Mission

The California Certification Board of Chemical Dependency Counselors (CCBCDC) is an independent non-profit organization recognized as a certifying body by the State of California Alcohol and Drug Programs Administration (ADP). The mission of our organization is to become the standard of excellence by which California recognizes certified chemical dependency counselors.

The California Certification Board of Chemical Dependency Counselors is approved by the State of California Alcohol and Drug Programs Administration.

OBJECTIVES

Define, promote, and maintain strict, structured, measurable, and fair standards for California substance abuse counselors.

Create, promote, and maintain a community-based support system for the California substance abuse counseling industry.

Define, promote, and maintain the highest level of professionalism and ethical standard for California substance abuse counselors.

Identify and promote continuing improvement of quality in the methodologies used by California substance abuse counselors.

PURPOSE

To promote positive change in the lives of alcohol and/or drug dependent people.

To improve the quality and accountability of the professional counselor.

To enhance the profession of substance abuse counseling.

The California Certification Board of Chemical Dependency Counselors is an Organizational Member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE).
